I have a photo somewhere of me sitting in a brown cardboard box when I was a kid. I will blog it when I come across it again. Meanwhile I will post this one of Matthew. There is construction taking place all around Johannesburg. The photo of the cranes were taken not far from where I stay. This is one of the friendly signs I drive past every day. Guess what I'm missing?

Pretoria School
Pretoria Secondary School was the school chosen for the Paintathon to be done in May. All classes are unpainted prefabricated structures. The logs are for pupils to sit on as they have their assemblies here. The school is situated in the city centre. It was established temporarily to take the overflow of the high school there (5 years ago) and each year has added on an extra grade. This year will be the first time it has grade 12 (Matric) We will start assessing the needs and source sponsors to improve the situation for the pupils. I still need to find a school in KZN so let me know of any suggestions.

New Acquisitions
Ok so I have acquired a few new toys. Not because I want to have "THINGS" but out of necessity. My phone contract was due for renewal in November and have now renewed it. It came with a Garmin (Navigating system) I can now type in the address and it gives me a map as well as voice directions to the spot.
This is a trundle wheel which I got from work. I went out on my first measuring job last week. In the future I will be expected to measure painting surfaces and cost them.

It's Cold in England
While we are having heat waves here in Sunny South Africa, others are experiencing winter. Angela took these photo's from her house recently. (I had to add one to get a collage.) Many schools were closed due to all the snow!! Notice too the size of properties there compared to what we have here. My job is starting to get interesting. I went on a painting course last week (theory) and will be doing some practicle next week. I am also learning how to quote on painting jobs. I'm trying to find a school in Pretoria to do a "Paint A Thon" on. I have a shortlist and hope to decide on one by next week.
